New York EQIP high tunnel ranking

New York is its own ranking page with its own primary sources — not a rename of Texas EQIP ranking, California EQIP ranking, Ohio EQIP ranking, or Pennsylvania EQIP ranking. The national ranking-dates page lists New York as ACEP/CSP/EQIP - Friday, Sept. 18, 2026. The New York EQIP page prints the same calendar day and names ACT NOW for two EQIP ranking pools: Conservation Planning Activities and High Tunnel. New York did not publish a seasonal high tunnel page or a High Tunnel Initiative sibling page tonight. None of the pages that did open print a payment dollar or a ranking score.

Official pages opened 7 October 2026, about 03:15 UTC. The national ranking-dates page, the New York EQIP page, the New York FY 2026 batching news page, the New York payment-schedule page, and the Cornell High Tunnels hub were opened live tonight (HTTP 200). Ranking-dates printed New York as “ACEP/CSP/EQIP - Friday, Sept. 18, 2026.” The New York EQIP page prints Apply by: September 18, 2026 and names ACT NOW for Conservation Planning Activities and High Tunnel. The FY 2026 news page is a different fiscal year (Oct. 24, 2025 / shutdown extend to January 15). The New York High Tunnel Initiative sibling URL and the New York seasonal high tunnel sibling URL did not return a published page. The payment-schedule page did not print a high-tunnel payment dollar. Those cells stay blank. This page is not USDA and not legal advice.

National notes that still apply: county-inspection checklist (copied from the Pennsylvania seasonal page — New York has no matching seasonal page tonight), what EQIP will not pay for, HU advance payment, NRCS approved vs program text, used vs new, NY temporary-greenhouse / DOS TB-M001-MISC permits, kit index. Texas: EQIP high tunnel Texas. California: EQIP high tunnel California. Ohio: EQIP high tunnel Ohio. Pennsylvania: EQIP high tunnel Pennsylvania. North Carolina: EQIP high tunnel North Carolina. Washington: EQIP high tunnel Washington. Michigan: EQIP high tunnel Michigan. Snow load matters in New York — Rimol Nor'Easter vs Bootstrap 30′ snow, zone 4 vs zone 8. Replacement film is grower cost unless the county says otherwise — high-tunnel replacement parts and plastic replacement.

Ranking-dates: Friday, Sept. 18, 2026

The Application Cutoff Dates page is titled FY 2027 Application Ranking Dates for the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP), Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP), and Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/ranking-dates redirected to /application-cutoff-dates. Under New York it prints:

ACEP/CSP/EQIP - Friday, Sept. 18, 2026

Source: USDA NRCS — Application Cutoff Dates (FY 2027 Application Ranking Dates), copied 7 October 2026, about 03:15 UTC. Fiscal year label on that page: FY 2027. That date is what the page printed tonight. This site does not invent a later cutoff.

NRCS accepts producer applications for its conservation programs year-round, but producers interested in funding during the current fiscal year should apply by their state’s financial assistance program application cutoff dates (below).

Apply by your state’s financial assistance program application cutoff dates to be considered for funding in the current cycle. Funding is provided through a competitive process. If you apply after the financial assistance program application cutoff dates, NRCS will automatically consider your application during future funding cycles and will contact you for any changes that need to be considered.

Friday, Sept. 18, 2026 has already passed as of this retrieval. Year-round apply still stands. A printed cutoff that has already passed is not a closed door — late applications roll to future cycles. It is also not a promise you will be funded this cycle. Rules vary; call your county USDA Service Center.

New York EQIP page: Apply by September 18, 2026 + ACT NOW

The state EQIP page prints the same calendar day as ranking-dates — not an FY26 leftover like California or Ohio tonight. It also names ACT NOW for a High Tunnel ranking pool, which those other state pages did not print.

Apply by: September 18, 2026

Source: USDA NRCS — New York Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP).

The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) is NRCS’ flagship conservation program that helps farmers, ranchers and forest landowners integrate conservation into working lands.

Applications for NRCS conservation programs are accepted on a continuous basis; however, customers should apply by state-specific ranking dates to be considered for the current funding cycle.

ACT NOW allows NRCS to immediately approve and obligate a ranked application in a designated ranking pool when an eligible application meets or exceeds a State determined minimum ranking score without waiting until the NRCS field office ranks all applications in the ranking pool. We are using ACT NOW to fund applications in two EQIP ranking pools, Conservation Planning Activities and High Tunnel.

Copied as printed. The page does not print the State determined minimum ranking score. This site does not invent that score.

NRCS will take a look at the applications and rank them according to local resource concerns, the amount of conservation benefits the work will provide and the needs of applicants.

Applications for most programs are accepted on a continuous basis, but they’re considered for funding in different ranking periods. Be sure to ask your local NRCS district conservationist about the deadline for the ranking period to ensure you turn in your application in time.

The same page says Some producers may also qualify for advance payment. National HU advance-payment notes — not a New York dollar — are on EQIP advance payment. Contact your local service center to start your application. No named EQIP program manager was printed tonight. Linked ranking-pool PDFs, name only — this site does not copy scores from the PDFs: FY26 West Area EQIP Ranking Questions, FY26 NE Area Ranking Questions, 2026 NY EQIP Rankings Southeast Area. Caption on that block: Ranking pools for FY26.

FY 2026 batching news — not the FY 2027 cutoff

A live New York news page still describes the first fiscal year 2026 sign-up. That is a different fiscal year from the ranking-dates FY 2027 Friday, Sept. 18, 2026 line. The dates below stay labeled FY 2026.

Update: Due the government shutdown, the deadline has been extended to January 15. Announcing the first fiscal year (FY) 2026 sign-up deadline for CSP, EQIP, GLRI, NWQI, WLFW, and AMA in New York.

Source: USDA NRCS — Application Batching Deadline for Conservation Program Funding (New York). Subtitle printed New Deadline: January 15. Publish Date September 24, 2025. Fiscal year on that page: FY 2026.

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in New York is announcing that the fiscal year (FY) 2026 sign-up deadline for the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP), Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and EQIP Initiatives including the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI), National Water Quality Initiative (NWQI), Working Lands for Wildlife Golden-Winged Warbler (WLFW) and Agricultural Management Assistance (AMA) is Oct. 24, 2025

All applications need to be received by Oct. 24, 2025, to be considered for this first round of funding for FY 2026. Applications received after this date will be held and considered for subsequent rounds, as funding permits.

While applications are accepted on a continuous basis, NRCS utilizes application cutoff periods to assess and rank applications based on their potential conservation impact.

Examples of practices implemented include: cover crops, reduced tillage, high and low tunnels, pasture management, early successional forest habitat, forest stand improvement and manure storage facilities. Many practices now have cost scenarios for small farms so that the specialized costs needed for these operations can be better managed.

“High and low tunnels” is the printed practice example. The small-farm cost-scenario sentence names no dollar. This site does not invent one.

GLRI helps NRCS accelerate conservation efforts on private lands located in targeted watersheds affecting Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. Through GLRI, NRCS-NY works with farmers and landowners to protect watersheds and shorelines from non-point source pollution.

NWQI allows NRCS to target on-farm conservation investments and water quality monitoring to improve impaired watersheds. NRCS-NY is currently focused on using NWQI to enhance watersheds of the Cohocton River.

The Golden-winged Warbler is a migratory songbird that depends on early successional, young forest habitat for breeding and nesting. This habitat has declined as forests have aged. Landowners are assisting this at-risk bird by voluntarily improving the health of their forests.

AMA helps agricultural producers use conservation to manage risk and solve natural resource issues through conservation. NRCS-NY targets AMA funding to assist agricultural producers in urban areas.

This site does not invent a hoop-house paragraph from a missing page. New York payment schedule: no dollar printed

NRCS provides financial assistance for selected conservation practices. The availability and amount of financial assistance can vary between states. Download the New York payment schedules below to see which activities qualify, and how much financial assistance is available.

The updated payment schedule is released in the first quarter each Fiscal Year (Oct-Dec).

Tonight’s HTML did not print a high-tunnel payment dollar or a current-year payment-rate PDF on that page. Ask the county office for the current New York payment schedule.

Snow load in New York (not a PSF table)

New York winters are why gothic-versus-round and film hold-down matter here. The New York EQIP page and the ranking-dates page do not print a snow-load PSF, a wind rating, or a “remove the cover” sentence. Cornell’s high-tunnel hub is education, not EQIP.

Helping growers extend the season and improve their profits

Source: Cornell High Tunnels — Helping growers extend the season and improve their profits, copied 7 October 2026, about 03:15 UTC. The hub page opened tonight did not print a snow-load sentence.

Medium-weight row cover supported on hoops gives 5-10 F warmth, more on colder nights. Gable vents are important for venting during warm spells in the winter, (in addition to roll-up sides used during warmer weather). A higher, taller structure holds heat collected during the day from solar gain better than a shorter, narrower one.

Cornell High Tunnels greens sentences already copied on this site (29 September 2026) and reused here with that label — not re-priced tonight. Education, not a ranking score. See high-tunnel winter lettuce and high-tunnel cut flowers.

Vendor gothic/Quonset snow language stays on Nor'Easter vs Bootstrap 30′ snow. Official hardiness bands versus land-grant winter cover stay on USDA zone 4 vs zone 8. Those pages are not a New York snow-load table.

New York temporary-greenhouse notes (not EQIP)

Building-code language already sourced on this site — not a ranking date and not a payment. Always call the county or municipality.

Therefore, temporary greenhouses that are specifically designed, constructed and used for the culture and propagation of horticultural commodities are exempt from requirements for building permits. However, temporary greenhouses are not exempt from local zoning requirements.

Source: NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets — Guidelines for Review of Local Laws Affecting Temporary Greenhouses (3/10/03), already copied on high-tunnel permits vs ag exemption.

Therefore, as a “temporary greenhouse” does not meet the definition of a “building,” the Uniform Code does not regulate the construction of structures that meet the definition of a “temporary greenhouse.”

Source: NYS Department of State — TB-M001-MISC Temporary Greenhouse (code effective 31 October 2017). Temporary greenhouse is specialized agricultural equipment, not a building; Uniform Code does not regulate; not exempt from local zoning; no retail sale.

FAQ

When is the New York EQIP ranking cutoff?
The USDA NRCS Application Cutoff Dates page, titled FY 2027 Application Ranking Dates for ACEP, CSP, and EQIP, lists New York as “ACEP/CSP/EQIP - Friday, Sept. 18, 2026.” Copied 7 October 2026, about 03:15 UTC. The New York EQIP page prints the same calendar day as “Apply by: September 18, 2026.” That is a ranking-period cutoff, not a payment dollar. Friday, Sept. 18, 2026 has already passed as of this retrieval — applications are still accepted year-round, and late applications roll to future cycles. A live FY 2026 news page still shows Oct. 24, 2025 and a shutdown extend to January 15; that is a different fiscal year and is not this FY 2027 ranking-dates line. Rules vary; call your county USDA Service Center.
Can I still apply after Friday, Sept. 18, 2026?
Yes — applications are accepted year-round. The ranking-dates page says NRCS accepts producer applications year-round, and that if you apply after the cutoff, NRCS will automatically consider your application during future funding cycles. The New York EQIP page says applications are accepted on a continuous basis but customers should apply by state-specific ranking dates for the current funding cycle. The FY 2026 news page also says applications received after that year’s first-round date are held for subsequent rounds as funding permits. Ask the district conservationist about the next ranking period.
What is ACT NOW on the New York EQIP page?
The New York EQIP page says ACT NOW allows NRCS to immediately approve and obligate a ranked application in a designated ranking pool when an eligible application meets or exceeds a State determined minimum ranking score, without waiting until the field office ranks all applications in that pool. New York is using ACT NOW in two EQIP ranking pools: Conservation Planning Activities and High Tunnel. The page does not print that minimum ranking score. This site does not invent the score or a payment dollar.
Does New York publish a high-tunnel EQIP payment on these pages?
No dollar is copied here. The ranking-dates page, the New York EQIP page, the FY 2026 batching news page, and the New York payment-schedule page opened tonight do not print a New York high-tunnel payment rate or a ranking score. The EQIP page names FY26 West / Northeast / Southeast ranking-question PDFs; this page does not copy scores from those PDFs. The payment-schedule page says financial assistance can vary between states and that the updated schedule is released in the first quarter each Fiscal Year (Oct-Dec). Tunnel Spec does not invent USDA or EQIP dollars.
Who ranks a New York high-tunnel application?
The county NRCS office. The New York EQIP page tells you to contact your local service center, says NRCS ranks applications according to local resource concerns, conservation benefits, and applicant needs, and tells you to ask the district conservationist about the ranking-period deadline. No named EQIP program manager was printed on that page tonight. Vendor “NRCS approved” copy is not a ranking letter. Print the county-inspection checklist. This page is not USDA and not legal advice.

Tunnel Spec does not write EQIP contracts or rank applications. Published by Pool Party Capital, Inc. Not USDA. Rules vary; call your county USDA Service Center.
